I guess this guy landed the Directing gig for a live-action AKIRA movie. While I have my doubts that A) it'll actually ever happen or B) it's going to be anywhere as awesome as the anime, his short film is pretty damn amazing:

I am unimpressed. If this is all one has to do to get a major motion picture directing deal, then what can one say? There are thousands of little shorts like this made by computer geeks in all corners of the globe. Why in God's Holy name would Warner Bros hand the reigns of a big budget movie over to someone with this little experience defies logic. The Execs in charge should give this lame decision very serious scrutiny.
