30 LIES REFUTED ABOUT AYERS AND OBAMA

A nice read, if you have the time, of why this is such a bullshit issue.

A few examples of the silliness they're attempting to scare voters with:

LIE: "Barack Obama is friends with Ayers, defending him as quote 'respectable and mainstream.'"(American Issues Project ad, August 2008)

TRUTH: David Axelrod described them as "friendly," not friends. Obama didn't call Ayers respectable and mainstream (although Ayers now is); Obama's campaign on his website posted an op-ed in the press that described Ayers that way.

*****

LIE: "They live half a mile from William Ayers, the unrepentant terrorist" and "Just a half a mile from those homes is Louis Farrakhan."(Hannity's America, October 5, 2008, "Obama and His Friends: History of Radicalism")

TRUTH: It's true, of course, that Obama lives in this same neighborhood, as do tens of thousands of other people who presumably are also guilty by geographical association. The logic of this argument would be, if you live half a mile from a sex offender, then you agree with child molesters.

These associations aren't a HUGE deal to me, but they are worth mentioning.. You're getting a little partisan, because if you found out that McCain served on a board with only two other members, and one of them was David Duke, you'd probably be upset by that.. A better way to spin the associations is to point out that FDR associated with Stalin or something.. Or that Christians love their neighbor... by swearing to God that Obama hates Ayers but kept running into him everywhere is intellectually dishonest..

Speaking of assoiciations, I heard someone on the radio say that if you're a Christian, don't go to Barack Obama's church, because they don't heal, they cause you to go blind and def, because he attended 500+ sermons there and never saw anything radical..

Here's a simple question for you, Bryan...

If they're "worth mentioning" and McCain and Palin spend so much of their time out on the campaign stops bringing it up to whip their audience into a orgy of "YEEEEEEAH! TERRRRRORIST!!!"

...then why didn't McCain bring it up to Obama's face last night?!

He had 65 million people watching. He could have made his case right then and there. Why not NAIL HIM on it?!

It's because deep down, he knows it's a non-issue. He knows it's something the American people could care less about, and according to the latest poll numbers, something they reeeeeeally dislike about his campaign wasting time discussing.
